Questions About Victor Labels

Just to satisfy my own personal curiosity, I'm hoping some of you will answer these questions regarding Victor labels.

1) What's with the purple labels? I thought maybe they were a precursor to the blue label, but I've seen single sided purple label records, and I thought only Victor exclusive artists got put onto the one sided records, and if that's the case, why then aren't they red seal labels?

2) As long as I've brought them up, what's with the blue labels? Red Seals were Victor exclusive artists recording "high art" type music, and black labels were popular songs and popular artists, then who and what description fits the music and artists for the blue labels. Were these people that Victor wished were exclusive artists?

3) When did Victor put out their red seal records with the "Victor" etching on the back?
