Aluminum Replacement Collar Arm change for VE 9-55 machines

Post by Victrola-Monkey »

I recently discovered that there needs to be an additional machined spot on my Cast Aluminum Replacement Collar Arm when, and only when used on the VE 9-55. The photo below shows in red, where about ⅛” of aluminum needs to be grinded away to allow the Tonearm to swing far enough over so a 12” recorded can be placed down on the turntable by the Record Ring without the record hitting the Pickup on its way down. Without this fix, this issue only arises with 12” records and on the Electrola changer, not the Orthophonic changer.

If you have purchased “Finished” aka machined Colar Arms or complete replacement sets from me for your Electrola (for Electrola only), I will fix this and return back to you at no charge.

If you are interested in any of my aluminum replacements, click the link below. If you want to see or purchase any at Union on Saturday, let me know a head of time.
