Masterphone phono attachement: What was it for?

Post by barnettrp21122 »

Hello all:
I waited until after the ebay auction ended to ask this: What was the Masterphone attachment supposed to do regarding playback on Victor or Columbia machines? I've found no reference to it the Paul/Fabrizio books. Below is the ebay link and some pictures. Thanks!

Just another of the many "gizmos and gimmicks" (should be the title of a book... ;) ) offered to take your money. I've tried mine and achieved nothing.

A pretty cool item, but how odd that the instructions tell how to use it but not what is intended to do. It makes no sense to me.

Thanks, people, for all the replies! I figured it was some bit of hype.
