Off Topic: Source of 16mm Edison Films Needed

Post by Dave D »

I know this is not talking machine related, but I think some of our members might be film fans. I am in need of 16 mm versions of any Edison films to use at the Thomas Edison Depot Museum in his boyhood home of Port Huron. The one we have is wearing out at the holes in the film that the sprockets drive. I would be interested in knowing if there is a way to repair worn holes.
Thanks,
Dave D

Dave, back in the '70s a sprocket repair product was introduced which consisted of a punched mylar tape and a machine to apply the tape to the film. It was only somewhat effective and that only for a few uses. I beieve the name of it is Perf-Fix. What make and model of projector are you using and is your film sound or silent? When was maintenance done on your projector? All of those factors can make a difference.
