Please be my eyes at Union

Post by JohnM »

I posted about this in Yankee Trader as a generic WTB ad, but anyone going to Union this year -- please be my eyes for a grill for an Edison SI-19 (Sheraton Inlay) Diamond Disc Phonograph. Thanks!

Hi John:

Is it like this model?

BTW, if no luck at Union, I did spot a nice looking (unfinished) S-19 reproduction grill on this site -- http://www.z50partsandphonographspecial ... Parts.html

Yup, just like that one. The one in the photo belongs to a good buddy of mine and I've seen and heard it in person. The reproduction grills are great, except the frame of the SI-19 version is embellished with inlay. I suppose I could modify one for the time being, but I'm a purist and would prefer an original when the time comes. Thanks for the suggestion and the link!

John,

An S-19 grille will not work on an SI-19 as the latter's grille is about an inch taller and an inch wider than the S-19.

I'll keep my eyes open for you - but I think there's a better chance of finding that Pooley flat-top...!
