Found an original family Victrola VV-XVIII in the wild

Post by Django »

I found this original and untouched VV-XVIII, serial number 1212 on Facebook Marketplace yesterday. It included the original, full set of albums and came from the Grand Daughter of the original owner. The lighting is poor in the breezeway, but the pictures will give you the idea. The machine was purchased in Boston in 1915 and has the original dealer tag. they are going to look up the family history and pass it along to me. They were extremely nice people and I am excited and surprised to find such a nice machine that has never been in storage.

Beautiful.... Love to hear the family history, too. That is very special.

What an outstanding purchase. I'd suggest you ask if you could pay to make copies of family photos that include the Victrola. Jerry B.

A rare opportunity to preserve the full provenance of an antique phonograph - - and a high-end example at that! Congratulations - -

What a wonderful opportunity to own a perfectly preserved example. I can well imagine your excitement finding an XVIII in the possession of a family that held on to it for so long and took such good care of it. It's a collectors dream come true. Congratulations!
