Exposition Reproducer

Post by Go2Joe+2 »

Hello everyone: My best friend of 42 years passed away and while cleaning out his house I came across this reproducer. The condition is new. Can anyone give me some history on this, what it goes to, age, what is the value and how I should list it for sale. I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Hello,

This is quite an interesting reproducer because it is a copy of the famous 'Exhibition' reproducer. It is unashamedly using a similar sounding name, script and design as the Exhibition that was used by Victor and affiliates overseas. This German built copy could have been used on many machines and may have been sold as an upgrade. It is likely to date to the 1910's to mid 1920's.

This link will show you more:

Yes, the Exposition was made by Beka.
The Exportation was made by Thorens
And the Expression was made by Paillard.
The Exposition actually has its needle bar pivots on the opposite sides to an Exhibition. I also have one that fits a European style tonearm.

At one time I had a German-made Kameraphone which used one of these reproducers.

Going back many years, my brother went to a local flea market and gave me one he picked-up in it's cardboard box----said the guy had more, so when he went to the flea market the following week ---more he got. I sent a couple to George (Great Lakes) who put back flanges on them and I sold them on some Victrolas. Still have more in their original boxes and when someone comes over with a cell phone, I'll get pictures and post them.
