Ok folks get ready for some articles from 1977. The centennial year of the phonograph.

First from February 23, 1977 is an article about a commemorative stamp to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the phonograph. How many members here have this stamp?

There was a big controversy regarding the first poster issued for this stamp. The USPS was ordered to remove and destroy all of them. There are just a few known in the hands of collectors.

From October 16, 1977: apparently there was a local PBS special that showed Edison phonographs playing. Sadly since VCRs were a luxury item in 1977. I don’t think a copy of this program exists
