How to remove stain from oak veneer.

Anyone know how to remove this very dark stain from oak veneer? Thanks, Roy

I use "barkeepers friend", which contains oxalic acid. Mix the powder with hot water and apply the paste onto the stain with a toothbrush, then clean the left over powder with a damp rag. this has worked great for me, but it it may remove some of the actual intended stain from the wood.

Martin hit the nail on the head. Here's a thread about a machine I own where I used Barkeeper's Friend on the lid:

Oxalic acid. Barkeeper’s Friend contains oxalic acid. You can buy oxalic acid at a real paint store.
