Columbia BWT Client machine

Post by Ho_Hum »

I have had this Columbia client machine that is totally unmarked other than a patent sticket claming it to be a BWT machine. All the parts are columbia, however either the tonearm or rear bracket aren't matched, because the bracket includes the nub for the nub style tonearm to rest on, while the tonearm has no nub on it. I was thinking about getting rid of it but I have no idea what to price it at. Any suggestions?

EDIT: I decided I won't sell it but instead repair the mismatched parts. I don't know whether the tonearm or bracket should be replaced since I cannot find many examples of the BWT, does anyone know which I should replace?

Hard to tell. Columbia could be rather capricious about what parts they used, especially on "client" machines: it may be that this tone arm or back bracket happened to be what they had on hand.
