The missing Victor #2!!!???
I was going thru a early Canadian Victor/Berliner machine catalogue the other day.In it the standard line up are listed. However, after the "late" victor #1 there ia a "BT" two spring machine. Then the Victor #3,4,5 and no #6.Then it goes into the Victrolas starting at the lV to the XVll.Two things come to mind.First, why would anyone buy a #3 for more $$ if you could get the "BT" cheaper?.Second, why is Berliner offering (so late) a early machine?.The "BT" looks just like a "late" Vic #2.I know that earlier (so I thought) Berliner's first front mount machines were given a letter as a model. When he started to convert to the back bracket style he added the "T" to the letter. However,as I wrote, this was many years before this.Any comments on this puzzle??.The catalogue does have a nice cut of the Berliner factory (still there) in Montreal.
