 Post subject: Phonograph Reproducer Tool?

Has anyone ever seen something like this before? Is it legit reproducer tool, or something else? How exactly does it work?

It appears that you could clamp an Edison C, H, K reproducer body in it and use the special wrench to screw/unscrew the retaining ring. That was my take on it anyway. Appears to be very nicely made!
