Phonograph Related Magic Lantern Slides

Post by StL Bill »

I recently sold a duplicate Magic Lantern Glass phonograph advertising slide to another Forum member, and was asked to show how I display my slides. I have quite a few advertising and movie slides that are used on my Projecting Kinetoscope. I built a back-lit display box to display my phonograph and other slides that were used in the silent movie theaters. This is an aspect of phonograph advertising that I really enjoy, and would like to see some pictures of other glass slides that are in other Forum members collection. I hope that you enjoy these as much as I do. Bill

Nice to see so many, they are impressive. I only have one---for Emerson records. I have some for Nash Automobiles from the late 1920"s ----thought that they were from a real back woods location to be still used, they I believe are on display at the Nash Museum right now.

This is a fascinating aspect of the hobby which I and possibly many others knew nothing about. Presumably similar advertising was shown in UK and European cinemas during the silent film era.
Do any members on this side of the pond have any gramophone related slides to share with us?

Very nice Bill. I wish I could find more of those myself. Here's a (not so good) photo of the only one I have.
