I Bought an Edison Key. What Does it Fit?

Post by JerryVan »

Okay, it's obviously for an Edison. The seller stated it's for a Diamond Disc phonograph, and I'm sure that's true, but is it "correct" for B250? Hope so, but if not, it' still a nice key!

My B250 came with its original key out of an antique shop in 1977...but it's a dolphin key.

Generally, the earlier machines (pre 1919) used 'dolphin' keys. Some of the higher end disc machines (for example, 275s, 425s) had specialized keys which are fairly rare. Post war models generally used the 'E' key (like the one in your photo).

Forgot to add - both of those keys will work - those locks are pretty robust.
