Edison Opera : Type SM, Model A

The I.D. tag info, Type SM, Model A, begs the question, was there ever anything other than an "SM" & "A"? I assume SM stands for Spring Motor?

I think you are right. I don't think that the Concert was called a Model B, but not sure. I think the Concert is identical to the Opera, just a name change. In contrast, the Amberola Model A, often called a 1A today, did have a Model B.

I'm not sure, but I thought the Concert model was also different from the Opera in that it came with a Diamond Mode A reproducer for playing the blue Amberol records?

There is no "machine in question". Just wondering if there was ever a "Model B" designation. It would appear not.
