Need help for horns identification

Post by phonodesbois »

As these two horns came from the US, I post my question in the machines section.
I have two front mount horns but I don’t know on which machines they were used (the leather elbow on the larger one is, I think, original).
Thanks a lot for your help and best wishes to all for this New Year!
Jeff

It looks like a horn for a Canadian Berliner Gramophone. Berliner used a leather elbow and attached it to the horn with 2 small screws and nuts.
Nice find.

Here is a photo of the Canadian Berliner Model C. This was a later model with a screw on elbow to attach the horn but an earlier model had the leather elbow.

What a beautiful machine!
Thanks for the info which makes sense as we might have found it in Quebec. On the other hand, this model is at best scarce in Europe so I’m afraid the horn will have to wait a long time!
Happy new year.
