FOUND THIS A FEW WEEKS AGO. HAD A BROKE SPRING, WHICH HAS BEEN REPLACED. DID NOT HAVE A L DOOR IN MY COLLECTION, PURCHASED FOR $200. THE SERIAL NUMBER RANGE IS FROM 1912, REALLY NICE PLAYING MACHINE WITH ALL GOLD PLATED HARDWARE.

I love the "L" door machines. I appreciate all the early Victrolas made when each model had its own style. Yours looks like a very nice example.

Nice machine. Does it have the early VTLA type decal? It looks great.

Also does it have the albums (not boxes). I am looking for a set and cannot find them. It may offset the cost of you machine. Mine is a complete oak example that has the wrong albums.

Fingers crossed,

Matt

Very nice! They are great machines. I found a VTLA with most of its boxes for a good price a couple of years ago and it is one of my favorite phonos. I also have an L-door XVI from 1909 similar to yours (although it is missing most of its record boxes) and another awaiting some restoration in my basement. You made a great find at a really good price.. Enjoy it!
