Beautiful work Brad. It looks great.

Looks like a great job on that XI! Is this one the earlier model with the upright slats in the bottom for record storage (versus the later horizontal shelves)? There is an open area or shelf in the very bottom, under the slatted storage area, which I think would have been put to better use if Victor had put in one of those handy drawers, like the L-door XVI used. After owning and selling off a number of Victrolas over the years, I still have kept this one---I just like it.

Thanks Brad. I was surprised how well it turned out myself. The
paint splashes were very thin and easily removed with 0000 and
Kotton Klenser. Speaking of which, do you know of a more cost
effective substitute for Kotton Klenser that works in a similar
fashion? I can't find the stuff locally so I have to order it off
Ebay for $17 a bottle. I wish I could copy the formula somehow and
make a 5 gallon bucket full of the stuff.

Thanks Kirkwood. This is one of the earliest models with B suffix:Kirkwood wrote:Looks like a great job on that XI! 1912 6800-22000 Late tabletop models have an A suffix. Transition to floor model in March (at s/n 10675). The earliest floor models have a B suffix. Vertical record storage slats are used, (rather than horizontal shelves).
The slats must have went missing since the inside is empty.

Any non-pumice hand soap in a tub, such as Goop or Go-Jo (readily available at places like Wal-Mart) will do the job for about $2 a tub. My wife disapproves of the odor from Kotten Klenser, but the others don't seem to bother her.antique1973 wrote:Speaking of which, do you know of a more cost

That's a great idea, thanks George! My wife thinks Kotton Klenser smells like
gasoline.
