It is interesting how ideas stay alive and take on different forms. I picked up an interesting piece at Stanton's last auction called a Westrex III and it plays what are known as a Tefi. Made in West Germany in the mid to late fifties. It uses an endless plastic film like the Goodale and like the Goodale the plastic film is engraved with a continuous record groove playing an hours worth of music. The record groove is laterally cut as opposed to the vertical cut on the Goodale. The Westrex was also known as Tefifon and I'll add a couple of interesting YouTube links.

So this one of a kind phonograph was seriously invented in TACOMA? do we have an exact address for Goodale? Can the restored surviving one actually play anything?
