Re: World phonograph - what to do about the finish?
I collect antique furniture and i dont think there are any other antiques out there that are in as poor condition as most stand up phonographs. Normally an antique piece of furniture is kept in the home and repurposed or sold and re-used and taken care of. With stand up phonographs, when they became obsolete and would no longer play modern records they ended up being stored in damp basements, hot attics or other places where the delicate shellac finish got damaged or destroyed sometimes beyond repair. There is nothing i love to see more than an old Victrola or other brands with their original finish in good condition but those seem to be rare.

He was happy with how the finish looks.. so the machine just left! Here’s a video. Hopefully a YouTube link is easier than posting the video here on the forum.
