Hymnophon

From the Jan 15, 1905 Talking Machine World, page 12. This is a full year and half before the Victrola was introduced. Were any of these actually made and sold? Do any exist today? Also I found it interesting to note the seller.

They exist but are not exactly plentiful. These are one of the first internal horn machines made.

The closest I've come to owning one is owning a Hymnophon soundbox box ! (Unfortunately, no soundbox to go with it ....)

Indeed, they share the same concept. I read that the Hymnophone predates the Pathé Jeunesse, making it the first internal horn machine. The Jeunesse is not rare, I have one and every now and then French eBay shows one for sale, but the Hymnophone is much more scarce.
