Divide the number of teeth in the worm wheel by the number of teeth in the worm shaft. For instance, if the spindle shaft gear, (worm wheel), had 40 teeth and the worm shaft, (governor shaft), had 4 teeth, the ratio would be 40/4=10, or a 10:1 ratio.

My guess would be, that all Edison DD machines would use the same ratio.
