I think this auction is a scam- opinions?

I'm pretty certain its a stolen picture- and the seller's payment instructions send up a red flag to me.

A lot of red flags here. The use of an image with the payment descriptions...which appear to soliciting an off line purchase...which of course would be unprotected by ebay.

I think you might be right Eric,

The wording is suspect, but the seller has over 4000 sales with 100% positive feedback. If you look at the sellers other items, there is over 7 pages of items, all listed at $88.88 with the same time left, and all of them (at least the half dozen or so I opened) have the same "Only buy it now" wording. Looking at the sellers past sales, they all look legit.

I think it is a hijacked user ID. I would stay clear.

Actually, the person has never sold a single thing before. All their feedback is as a buyer...now all of a sudden they're selling a wide variety of things for each for $1700?

All of his auctions have just been cancelled. His attempted fraud was too obvious.

It isn't the first time either- he had a lot of machines on in the past, all rather underpriced for their rarity and with the same request for an offline deal.
