From "Shabby Chic" to "Phoenix Chic" (ashes to beauty). That is a true transformation - congrats...

Thank you for all your kind remarks. It has been a pleasure to restore such a unique gramophone to something that the original owner would have recognized.
Now I just hope that in 100 years someone else does not convert it into something radical like a go cart

Finally!! 👏👏👏 Someone who’s willing to bring things back to what they should be! I can’t wait for more of these de-conversion threads!

This was one of the boldest restorations I've ever seen. You did a beautiful job!

The refinish job on this is really lovely. It looks classy, sophisticated, and period-correct. Not the shiny, grainy, see-through look so many refinished things tend to have. I'm sure it was a ton of work, but the results here show it was worth it.

As Audiophile said, "clearly a labor of love." That says it all. Your level of craftsmanship is and attention to detail is outstanding. Well done!

Thanks again for the kind words. Here is one more photo of the Operaphone with a recently acquired 34" Polyethylene Nipper
Just the right size for each other.
