Never seen anything like it either.
I guess it's some sort of white enamel paint?

Here is a nice pre-1910 stamp of Robert Kern, a large dealer from Moscow. He sold both gramophones and graphophones (see contemporary sleeve). His trademark would be better-suited to a blacksmith.

This is the most creative dealer stamp I've seen in 28 years of collecting. I like it! TMF, you got one? (I know this should probably go into "music," but I thought we'd have more fun here!)

I have a Brunswick with the same sort of stamp, but from an east coast dealer- can't locate it right now though.

I have several Brunswicks with an identical style stamp from a local music store. Perhaps Brunswick offered these stamps (and silver ink) to larger dealers of their records and players.
