With about four weeks remaining until the show, I hope to see other collectors when we visit on Saturday morning. For those of you who have not attended a phonograph show, it is a great opportunity to see our hobby up close and gain new experiences. We will travel to the show from Texas.

Does anyone have suggestions for a hotel or motel in the area?

Any updates on the show in light of the Delta Variant surge as well as the fact that the CDC will likely reinstate their prior mask guidelines this week?

There are two hotels within easy walking distance of the show.

Best Host Inn Disneyland Knotts Berry Farm http://www.besthostinnbuenapark.com

Buena Park Inn https://anaheiminns.com/buena-park-inn

Both are about $70-$75 per night. Are they great? No. But they are adequate. You won't be spending a lot of time there....

Regarding COVID, as we all know, it's a moving target. Three weeks from now could be very different than today. We plan to follow all required protocols. Right now, the situation in Orange County is not terribly bad. LA county is worse off. What the situation will be on Aug 21 is anybody's guess though. We hope you are vaccinated.

I am staying at the Buena Park Inn. It doesn’t seem like a bad hotel at all. Also, I have been vaccinated for a few months now, but still wear a mask and try to social distance a bit, so even if mask mandates for vaccinated individuals are (likely) reimposed nationwide by the time the APS Show occurs, I can live with that.

I will happily wear a mask if it means I get to attend a phono expo. I've missed it so much.

This will be at the Expo priced about $1950. All parts are original with the exception of the black rubber ball feet, gaskets between the motor and cabinet, and new white tubing in the Exhibition. It comes with a choice of horns.

I wish Celeste and I could be there, but not enough hours in the day. It should be a lollapalooza!

Hi All………

I’m very excited about attending the APS California EXPO being held on August 21st and 22nd in Buena Park, California.

This year I plan on bringing a TON of good stuff for all collecting levels. There are a couple of rare project phonographs, a one-of-a-kind upright phonograph, and some real nice museum quality phonographs, both front and rear mount examples. Several have matching base cabinets. I’m also bringing a large group of loose horns and lots of blue amberol cylinder records.

Here’s a snippet of items I’m bringing:

Berliner Ratchet Wind and a Berliner Trademark
Eldridge Johnson Model C and an Eldridge Johnson Model M
Victor Humpback II with all brass pedal horn
Victor IV with wood horn and matching Herzog base cabinet
Victor D with wood horn and matching Herzog base cabinet
One-of-a-kind upright phonograph with hand carved dragons on front and sides
Rare Herzog Cyclo-phone cylinder record cabinet in mahogany (project cabinet)
All original Kalamazoo Duplex - Nice
Columbia BII with wood horn and a very unusual Herzog base cabinet
Edison BI in mahogany with Diamond A reproducer
Columbia 20th Century BC (project machine)
Edison Home Under Glass – Very Unusual Cabinet (project machine and cabinet)
Edison B60 “Arts and Crafts” Diamond Disk
Columbia AH front-mount with carrying case

And MORE…!!

Can’t wait to see all my friends and fellow collectors. Hope to see you there.

Mark

Oh, almost forgot. I’ll also have available what may be the earliest known Edison Fireside phonograph. It is Serial Number 46…!! Check out this TMF link: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7578

Only 21 days to go until showtime..!!
