Victor 0 tonearm

Post by chrisg »

A shop owner called and has a Victor 0 brought in by one of his antique booth renters. Only thing missing is the tonearm. He thinks he can get 200 clams for it. My question is the 0 specific or will a tone arm from another model work. Like V-I. ( have never had a Victor 0

Without posting pics to show which variation of Victor O it is....impossible say.
By the way, what are they going to do with 200 clams??

I thought the O had no gooseneck.

The later versions did.

Throw in a few lobsters & some corn, go to the beach, and have a clambake! ;)

Victor O has no goose neck, but a complete back bracket and tonearm from a Vic. III through VI will work, but it won't be correct for that machine, here are some photos from eBay that are correct, and the completed listing from eBay.

Keep an eye on this seller, he doesn't like repairing the machines, so routinely parts them out.

OK , I stand corrected. The photo he sent has that early tone arm with that cradle. I've never seen that type tonearm and thought it was something cobbled up. Guess I'm going to pick up a 0 tomorrow. Thanks guys, I never stop learning something new

I've got a spare Victor O tone arm like the one in Jeff's post.

And then... there is also the arm that has a gooseneck built into the shape of the arm, but solid, with no swivel joint.

Yes, as mentioned there are a few variations of arm and back bracket used during the years the Victor O was in production. So, knowing the prefix letter and serial number may be a big help to the members. Once you get it, i hope you post pics in order to answer your question.

Hopefully Jerry's will be the correct version and problem solved.

By the way, a Victor arm or back brackets for a Vic lll - Vl will not work on a Victor O.
