Columbia BGT lid label

Post by phonospud »

Hello all, I recently purchased a very original Columbia BGT. The lid label is unfortunately missing but you can see where it was by the glue marks. Bruce Johnson graciously offered to take a good digital photo of his but cannot do it until he is back in the USA later this or next year. I don’t mind waiting but in the meantime if anyone can help with this matter it would be greatly appreciated! Here is what the label looks like. Note it includes the 2-4 minute gearing which my machine also has. Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Darren

This should be what you need:
Columbia BGT 2-4 tag.jpg
Print it on a laser printer, it should print exact size (2.05"W x 2.4"H) then soak it in some weak tea, the tea will give the paper an aged look.

If this scan doesn't work out for you message me and I'll send you an original scan.

Glad it worked out for you.

I have a few others, not easy to make up unless the original is ready to fall off the lid.

I've found a light spay coat of Amber shellac tones it enough to give it that aged look if you want to experiment.. I've used this method with good success.
