I saw this recently, It's an L-door XVI model D. This is some of the most pronounced radical quartersawn oak I've ever seen on a machine. And no, this machine is not mine. It appears every panel, trim piece and even the corners were selected for heavy graining patterns.

That is loud and proud! I think it is great. I also have a set of the proper Feltoid casters for the XVI D if you end up with it.

The stunning nature of this XVI is making me overlook the Diamond Disc on the turntable!

Re: If you like Quartersawn Oak........... look
I would want to see the inside of the horn & cabinet doors as the lid decal appears to have faded badly. Perhaps this machine was UV-damaged. Seeing the original color would be a good way to see how much it's faded if at all.
It is fantastic & I would be mighty proud to push this one into the collection-- Anyone who owns a Mission bungalow should consider this Victrola.

That's spectacular !
Old growth white oak trees, from what I see.
Veneer Suppliers in the US sells quarter cut oak, but the heavy grain pattern just isn't there.
One just doesn't see that anymore on new furniture.
