Will the centre spindle turntable shaft from a Victor II motor fit in a Victor IV ?
There is a Victor II motor on eBay for parts.

Re: Spindle Compatibility
Mmmm with the great variability of motors, turntable attachments etc, I wouldn't risk. You're bound to find that the length is not the same, or any other detail... Nevertheless, a Víctor motor variants specialist (not me) would know better...

Re: Spindle Compatibility
It's only at 15 bucks so far, but mark my word, the bidding will go into the stratosphere just because I want it.
I've wasted money on things before, this will be no different.
Most likely any others that will be bidding on it are from here and have read my post, so anyone who knows, won't answer my question just to keep me from bidding and driving the price up; there that too.

Re: Spindle Compatibility
I believe it would work, as long as your Vic IV motor uses the coarse, square cut gear teeth that the eBay spindle has. If it turns out that it doesn't work, you can resell it all and, theoretically, get at least the "back bidder" amount of money in return.

Yes it has the square cut teeth, and another member has contacted me, so he may have one.

Re: Spindle Compatibility
Check out the machine part numbers in the Victor replacement parts literature. If you look at the parts listings at GLAP (Victrola Doctor), you will see, for example, that the spindle is listed as part 3027A for both the Victor II and Victor IV motors (i.e., same part) that are in his particular catalogue. There were different motors used over the course of production of the various machines, so I can't guarantee that the spindles are the same for all Victors II and IVs. But with a bit more research from sources like Harold Braker's Victor motor guide or Baumbach's VDB, you may be able to narrow it down. It's a lot better that just guessing.
