Excluding trips to phono shows which are about 1000-2000 miles each way from where I live, the farthest I've travelled to pick one up is about 500 miles each way. If it's a rare machine or a bargain, I'd travel farther.

I drove about 50 miles to Joliet with a friend, a few years ago, to pick up a Consolette with brass sound box. That was for him, though.

Most recently I drove about 25 miles to Niles (north Chicago 'burbs) to pick up that Victor V and base cabinet...
