Re: A Victrola XVIII 18 for only $250?
For the missing back, i am thinking of using the back to a 17, i did a test fit and its a perfect match. There is a guy on here that parted out a 17, perhaps he has the back. For the doors, i may get lucky with some doors i have in stock from parted out XI's or i may need to manufacture them. At this point i am not sure if i can do the fancy trim but who knows.

Jonsheff, I have a spare back for a XVII if you need one. Send a PM if you do.

Oh, I was all excited but I believe the back that I have available is to an L-door 16, probably not a match? If anything else matches with the L-door I have parts, knobs, hinges, etc... not really sure about these models

Even with its faults, you still did well for $250. Since you have/had another XVIII, if all else fails, you could take measurements of the back of it and reproduce a back for the new one. It would be a time consuming project, but not beyond your capability from what I've seen of your work.

Re: A Victrola XVIII 18 for only $250?
The last 18 I did had back problems to. The trim was missing from the bottom of the back doors. I checked into having them milled but it was cost prohibitive. I ended up making a silicone mold of the top trim and mixing dye into fiberglass resin to recreate the trim, here is a before and after. I still have the mold but without the sides it wont help me. The last 18 I restored is long gone, shipped to CA.zenith82 wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 6:57 pm Even with its faults, you still did well for $250.
