Gramophone valuation (UK).

Hi,
My Father-In-Law owns a Curry's Portland 'Pedestal' Gramophone.....(1927) I believe.
It is in very good condition, and works absolutely fine.
Does anyone know the approximate value of the item, please?

It's impossible to say without pictures.
Condition must be known when placing a value on any machine, so several good clear pictures showing the interior and exterior of it are essential.
Most companies made both high end and cheap models so you also need to determine which this may be.
Yours is what's known among collectors as an off brand gramophone, so unless it's design is of some special significance, it's probably not worth a great deal unfortunately.
You may find instead of selling it, you'll get more satisfaction from keeping it as a family heirloom you can enjoy and pass on down through the family.

I believe the gramophone will be handed down through the family, but it would be nice to know the approximate value of the machine.
I have three photographs of the gramophone, but as you can see, I am no photographer.

A nice machine for keeping it into the family! Just a bit of polishing the nickeled parts and would look gorgeous!

The value of this machine is very much its history as a family heirloom. Unfortunately, it has little monetary value. In the UK it would struggle to fetch £30 at auction. It's just the way collectors (and Joe public in general) see / value these things.
