Request for data from Victor 10-50, etc owners

Post by MarkELynch »

Owners of 9-55, 10-50, 10-51 and 10-70

Could you measure the maximum height of the lift ring travel according to my sketch please?

I have data from 14 machines (four are below) and the results vary quite a bit. Lift ring travel is critical to proper record pick-up from the magazine stand. This information will help with the design of a replacement magazine base, currently in process.

If you would be so kind to take a few minutes to send data from your machine (or bare changer) I would appreciate your input. Serial number is helpful, your identity will be kept confidential. Contributors will get advance parts notice.

Please measure according to the sketch.

Email your data to markelynch56@gmail.com

Thanks,
Mark

Thanks to all that have answered my question for data so far!

Surely there are a few more 10-50, 10-51, 10-70 and 9-55 owners out there.

Thanks very kindly,

Mark

Many thanks to all who have submitted data for the lift ring travel heights for their Victor machines with the first-style changers! Much appreciated. Most are about 10-½ to 10-⅝” but there are some that lie outside of the range. I’m trying to draw some conclusions. In designing the aluminum replacement changer parts the lift ring travel is a factor. I was surprised to learn of the variation from one machine to the next with what appear to be identical mechanisms.

Please include your model and serial number with your submission, I can keep this confidential of you wish.

Work continues on the set of changer parts and we hope to have inventory by late winter. The “tadpole” shaped index handles are ready as are replacement index assemblies used to change the record size. The index handles and index assemblies can be mailed now. Let me know if you’d like to be on the list of interested collectors. The pictured parts will be painted, threaded and felted, ready for installation. Please contact me directly markelynch56@gmail.com

Thanks!
Mark
