LOOK WHAT THE CAT DRAGGED IN!
Look what the cat dragged in! After several months of negotiating and with some help from fellow forum member Pedro M. aka walser ,we were able to acquire this machine. With my retirement from the work force approaching the end of next year this will probably be my last large purchase as I will then be on a much shorter leash. Pictures do not do it justice; the amount of detail is truly unbelievable. I had never seen one in person and was not disappointed when I uncrated it.

Wow, that's a museum piece for sure! I seriously doubt there are more than 5 or 6 of these Moorish Marquetry Victrolas in existence.
Bravo!!

Wow! Amazing workmanship.
I would guess that it is Middle Eastern.
The script on the lid, door tops, drawer front, and back looks Arabic. But is it Arabic, Farsi, or pre-1928 Turkish?
I have taken screenshots and sent them off to a friend who taught Arabic at a major university and asked her for her opinion and a translation if she can read the scripts. More later .... maybe.
