Since the original thread I made 2 years ago has lost most of the articles I had posted, I’ve Decided to start a new thread of phono related newspaper articles of the past I find on Newspapers.com.
This includes period articles from the late 1870s to 1930s,
Later articles of early phono collectors from the 1940s to 2000s or just advertisements from the era of acoustic and very early electric machines.
I want to start this thread with the earliest articles I have found related to the original Edison tinfoil machine: From November 6th, 1877.
Feel free to contribute your own!

Only ONE Pooley VTLA in Omaha in 1906? Well no wonder I still haven’t found one in my area!

This could be a valuable thread if only the images survive. Here the Gramophone Company prepares for the Christmas trade :

Thanks for starting the new thread. I found many of the articles in your original newspaper clippings thread interesting. It's a shame that so many images on this forum have vanished. It's disappointing to do a search, pull up an old thread and discover the photos are toast.AmberolaAndy wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 10:34 pm Since the original thread I made 2 years ago has lost most of the articles I had posted, I’ve Decided to start a new thread of phono related newspaper articles of the past I find on Newspapers.com.

The G&T Gramophone Grand was contemporary with the Pooley Victrola and has certainly aged more gracefully.
It's price of 50 Guineas (£52.75 to the decimal generation) equates to almost £8000 today.

I’d figure this would gain more traction to start all over again but include anything phono-related.AZ* wrote: ↑Wed Nov 09, 2022 12:06 amThanks for starting the new thread.
