Which tone arm ?

Post by Sherazhyder »

Hello! Will you please suggest which type of Victrola tonearm and reproducer should I buy for this four spring machine?. Please also suggest the appropriate Victrola plate indicating the model number for this machine which I should buy for this phonograph. The pictures of the motor board and motor are here so you could suggest.

Please note that the brake I have is the short arm type. Does this mean I need a long arm tone ? Please advise

Thanks and regards
Sheraz

To answer your questions , you would need to show some pictures of the cabinet.

Also,

Look at the bottom of the cabinet. You may see a paper sticker with the model number.

Unfortunately we only have this machine, all board stuff minus tone arm and the horn. After the appropriate type of tone arm and reproducer is determined, the cabinet will be ordered in accordance with correct measurements and design.

If you provide the forum with a better photo of the tonearm hole and its screw holes, and measurements of them, and the distance between the center of this to the center of the motor spindle hole, someone in the forum might help and tell you which tonearm(s) would fit all this... Also, do you have the horn? This also gives a clue...

The approximate distance from center of spindle to center of tonearm hole is about 6/Β½ inches. Here are the pics with actual measurements. Please advise. Thanks

Your horn reminds me of my mystery horn, which some time ago I used to play records using blutooth.

If yours is anything like mine then it is VERY HEAVY !

(My mum made the cushion it is resting on incidentally).
