I have been using NOS stock needles. I have found that Brilliantone work very well and have been available on eBay. They cost a little more than new needles, but they seem to have consistently good quality. I have bought soft, medium and loud and they were all excellent. I have also used NOS RCA Victor, (I don’t open the early Victor packs). The RCA Victor needles also work very well and have good consistency.

So those spear point needles aren’t worth buying anymore?

Has anyone tried or have experience with Boye needles?

I bought a number of packs once. I think they sound nice. They have a smooth response and low surface noise. Probably due to the constant taper like many of the other vintage needles.

I have been using Soundgen needles as well, along with BCN thorn needles, and have been happy with them.

Where do you get your soundgen needles?

Thanks
