storage / display of reproducers / soundboxes

Post by poodling around »

I have a collection of 'excess' soundboxes / reproducers but they are scattered around in various boxes / on shelves etc.

I am thinking about adapting an HMV 102 portable 'carcass' and using that to store my best spare ones in.

I wonder how fellow collectors store theirs and would be pleased to hear about this and any ideas.

I drove almost 3 hours one way to get this display table, absolutely worth the drive and one if my best finds! It is absolutely gorgeous and I haven't seen a another one like it.

Nice idea.. I keep my surplus soundboxes in small cardboard boxes, but that table is great, as they can be seen...

Beautiful display table! I'm lucky enough to have one similar but smaller which has been passed down the family. It's full of objects from at least 4, likely 5 generations, so will not be given over to my gramophonalia, but I have added a couple of items! Apologies for the poor photos, it's very difficult to photograph with the light where it is.

I use an old compartmental drawer for some of mine. Here is a very short video of it:

Thanks very much indeed for your ideas.

I really do like the tables shown by Mormon S and Orchorsol. This would be ideal - but unfortunately the gramophone room has very little floor space available. This might actually work for me though if the table goes in the middle of the room.

The wall mounted idea from mrrgstuff might be a 'goer' - except the best wall to use this on already has a 1942 MOD map on it. Again, it might be something I could do.

I think I will reflect on this and once I have made my mind up I will up-date this thread.

Fantastic and interesting items you all have incidentally !

Thank you very much everyone !
