For a forthcoming article, the background of this little bronze Souvenir, is being researched. Some collectors may have seen it, or even own it. It only weighs about a pound (just under 4" tall), so it will fit in anywhere. His signature is engraved across the front base and he appears to be holding a (sealed) Lalande battery.

The working theory is that it was originally given out to about 200 people attending an Electrical Convention (AEIC) at the 'Hotel Frontenac,' in Sep 1910 (Thousand Islands). Thomas Edison, and wife Mina, AND their 3 children all attended and TAE was the 'Guest of Honor.' He personally received one of these "paper-weights," sculpted by E. E. Codman for Gorham Mfg, and it rests today (well tended) in the Glenmont Mansion Living Room.

If anyone knows something (more) about it, please let us know - your comments may appear (or be incorporated) within the next issue of AP, our Quarterly Magazine. It is very difficult to find any details about it in print, then or now. And I won't even mention another Dinner Bust (of Tom) that has NEVER turned up, from the 1906 National Phono Co (Jobbers) Convention.

Thanks.

Allen
