Anachronism -
Actress Mary Astor and a Victor Credenza in a scene from the movie "The Lost Squadron." Although the movie was released in 1932, this scene was supposed to take place very soon after the end of WW I, not 7+ years later. Enjoy the image before it disappears.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie called "Gay Divorcee" showed a white Credenza, whose turntable was used to show a paper silhouette of them dancing in the room with the song "Continental".AZ* wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 8:51 pm Anachronism -

Here is the photo of the White Credenza with Fred Astaire in "Gay Divorcee". It seems the machine was altered for this particular scene. The turn table is too high. When the lid is closed, it would hit the regular tonearm and the reproducer.Watanabehi wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 11:46 pmFred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie called "Gay Divorcee" showed a white Credenza, whose turntable was used to show a paper silhouette of them dancing in the room with the song "Continental".AZ* wrote: ↑Tue Dec 20, 2022 8:51 pm Anachronism -

The machine on this poster looks like a replica of HMV or Victor machine.travisgreyfox wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 1:48 pm Ran into this movie poster. I actually never heard of it but it looks good.

Edward G Robinson, playing an Italian patriarch in the 1949 noirish “House of Strangers”

loves listening to opera on his VV8-30 / credenza. At one point he winds it, and you clearly hear the distinctive ticking of the spring pawl.
