Passing along this info about an auction that takes place on 10/14 in France. Some amazing phonographs here! I'm not sure if they ship to the USA or not, and I've maxed out my spending for the year, so I won't be doing any bidding myself. Anyway, check out the goods:

Thanks for posting. If this is a single collection, it must be one of the largest to come on to the European market for some years.

One of the strangest machines must be Lot 38, the moleskin covered Pathé. I wonder how many moles it took to cover it  .

I'm surprised with the Zonophone (item 20) as it's the first time I see this model. Any info?

Maybe no moles were hurt in the construction.............."Moleskin is a heavy cotton fabric, woven and then sheared to create a short, soft pile on one side. The feel and appearance of its nap is similar to felt or chamois, but less plush than velour. Clothing made from moleskin is noted for its softness and durability. Some variants of the cloth are so densely woven as to be windproof"

Though the arm and horn are Pathé, the cabinet does not look like a traditional Pathé?

I'm sure there's a funny comment waiting regarding "windproof"?

I don't know which was actually posted first, but the other thread has more information.

I was also interested in this Zonophone as I have never seen this model before either... or anything like it. Where did they get the date (1908) from? It seems unlikely to be as late as this.
