Thank you I had thought about revisiting the Wild thread and applying his mods.Orchorsol wrote:Congratulations, they look very professional! You can experiment with varying the screw pressure and/or putting thin rubber or leather washers in between the parts.

Re: Meltrope II Spring or Springs wanted
There are no markings on the cover of my II. Is that significant? Also the Dulcetto that I referenced is likely the same casting but does not have the compression nut to the rear and des not have the machined section to the front to accept the sprung cover.epigramophone wrote:I have only just looked at this thread and the mention of Dulcetto. Any firm placing a large order for Meltropes could have their name put on the front mask.flying500 wrote:Thank you Orchorsol,
I think I may have to attempt to make one /two in brass.
I guess that it should work as the replacements for EMG boxes offered on ebay?
It appears that Meltrope made very similar boxes using the same basic casting and springs for Dulcetto at least.
Did your friend pass any photos of the No 2 spring conversion. I would be interested to see the results.
I have seen several such variants which would make a collecting sideline in themselves. Here is one made for Antoria :
It has a press on cover, inscribed Dulcetto and retains the needle bar spring pivot.
