Though I've never owned one, I have always hankered after the 461. Some years ago a dealer promised me a nice oak example, and then sold it to someone else.
I'm in Scotland, so one available in North Britain would be brilliant!
Thanks
Neil

Unfortunately this one is in Suffolk, but as a guide it is typical of the price you might expect to pay :

Re: Wanted: HMV 461
Thank you. It looks a very fine machine. The price is less deterrent than the problem of getting it from Suffolk to the shores of Clyde .....

This 461 has just been listed, but it is in London and the seller is not offering postage.

Thank you. It looks rather fine. I've written to the guy to ask about shipping. It's a shame London is so inconveniently placed.epigramophone wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 4:06 am This 461 has just been listed, but it is in London and the seller is not offering postage.

Just take a train from Scotland to London and bring it back, that way there's no chance of damage. You guys have the convenient public transportation, different from the US, and still think it's too far. If I lived in England and wanted something in Paris, I'd take the Eurostar and be there in a short time. I travelled all over England, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, etc. by train and find it to be very convenient to get around... But, that's me...

That looks alarmingly like the one Brian Chesters slathered in linseed oil recently turning the outside a patchy reddish colour where the finish had worn through.epigramophone wrote: ↑Thu Aug 19, 2021 4:26 am Unfortunately this one is in Suffolk, but as a guide it is typical of the price you might expect to pay :

If its not THE same one someone else has copied the idea to shift a tatty looking 511 at high price.
