Edison was then trying to patent an anechoic chamber... Interesting. But I suspect that maybe Rayleigh or any other of the previous sound transmission theory developers may had invented this before. this patent was granted to Edison in 1916, the paper says, so any of the old professors didn't apply for any patent before Edison did, which could be likely if they were only investigators, and had anything to do with commercial application of their inventions. Anyone knows about this?
