Elgar recording acoustically.

Post by epigramophone »

Elgar and his musicians accompanying Beatrice Harrison, whose most famous recording (HMV B2470) was made in her garden, where she played the cello accompanied by nightingales.

That's a lovely picture.

Beatrice Harrison also made the first recording of Elgar's Cello Concerto (or at least a truncated version of it) on HMV D541 and D545 in 1919 and 1920, which may well be what she is recording here.

Thanks for posting it, Epigramophone.
