I won a stack of 7" records at the Breinigsville auction and am currently in the process of cataloging and digitizing them. I was able to find most of the information on the web, but was hoping that more knowledgeable members here would be able to fill in some remaining gaps.
I have these two Oxford 7" records that are way past the serial numbers I was able to find on the web. Does anyone know when these two records were produced and by whom? I can't find Columbia matrices with that number.
Oxford 16020 "Orchestra Selection" "Happy Days In Dixie", Matrix 8341D
Oxford 16021 "Orchestra Selection" "Broadway Hits", Matrix 8320D
Thanks
Andreas

Re: Oxford 7" 16000 series?
I have read that at least some of the Oxford records were made from Zonophone masters.

I have several Oxford records and I thought that they were pressed by Columbia.

Yes, I also thought they were all Columbia, but the "Almost complete 78 RPM Record Dating Guide" states that Zonophone and Imperial (and other) masters were also used. Admitted, the guide is 20 years old, but it supports different sources for Oxford record masters. But even considering that I was not able to find these matrix numbers. Of course the guide also says that the 16000 series was 10", not 7"...

I bet those matrix numbers with the D suffix are reverse imaged too....sounds like Leeds & Catlin aka Imperial material to me.
