Re: Wanted Polish records
Hello, and welcome to the Talking Machine Forum!
Polish records from before the war are wonderful. Thank you for preserving these pieces of history.
If you are asking for records the best place to do it is in the Music Trader section; this Music section here is for discussing music and Music Trader is, of course, for shopping.
I might have some that I can sell but I've never mailed anything to Poland before. I bought them in the attic of an old general store once. They are, mostly, in very nice condition & sound nice, but I do not speak Polish so I cannot tell what they are saying--I think a lot of it was comedy songs. The orchestration is more bold and impressive than an American comedy record of that same 1920s time period would have been. For the right price I could also turn loose of some polkas by Leon Witkowski & orchestra from the mid-to late-1920s on Victor Records...but I really enjoy those recordings so I am not keen on selling.
Where are you finding these old records?
