Foxtrot (Fred Raymond)

Mischa Spoliansky und sein Orchester (... and his Orchestra)

Electrola E.G.940/BLR4320 II
Berlin, c. September 1928

Although the Label says "Mischa Spoliansky", the band is "(Die/The)Weintraubs Syncopators" - The best (Hot) Jazz Band in Germany of the late 20´s.
They started c. 1925 as a student band, first recordings in 1928.
For daytime job, they played in the famous Big Band of Dajos Bela in the Adlon Hotel, Berlin.

So, for the record the band is enlarged with some members of the Bela Band plus Mischa Spoliansky (a famous Vaudville and Musical composer in the 20´s)on the piano.
Because most Bandmembers of the "Weintraubs Syncopators" were jew, they left germany in 1933. They played as a band till c. 1937, as far as in China and Australia !

ENJOY !!!!

I enjoyed the song.

I sometimes will buy a German recording if I feel it may be entertaining. My wife is Bavarian. Her parents, in their 80s, live near us. A few times I found something that would make her folks perk-up and start singing.

Two such songs (decades apart) are Du Kannst Nicht Treu Sein and Bummelpetrus.

What a joy!

Although I am not particularly interested in Jazz before Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck and Ornette Coleman I find the song quite entertaining.
