The First Version of Marching Through Georgia
I was wondering what label and what year the first version of this popular song came out. I only have two versions.

There are very many recordings of this song. Here is the search results page from DAHR for the song.

The oldest one they list is Berliner 060 from 4/16/1889

Berliner 172 is that title and must have sold well, as it was re-recorded several times (with different take letters). The original Berliner recording of it goes back to at least 1895, according to DAHR.
I have a mold of one of the 1898 takes (W) and may have the original somewhere.
